I had such a great time writing Targeted, giggling as I wrote certain scenes. Each book is an extension of me—things I have experienced, things I have struggled with, hard questions I’ve asked. Audiobooks

All my audiobooks are for sale back on my website now. I took them off for a while, but they are back and I will be putting them in bundles for a discount. A few years ago, I wrote about how, when you listen to an audiobook or buy an ebook from Amazon, you are merely buying a license to read it. You don’t actually own the audiobook or e-book. You can’t pass the books down or send them to whatever device you’d like to read them again. Of course, Kindle Unlimited is more of a library model. I had a super kind reader write an amazing review for the Carter Counter-Espionage Unit series and she said she’d love to have all the books in the series human narrated. And I would LOVE to do that as well. Just need to get the funds for it! What do you think about this hotly debated topic: human narrator or no audiobook at all? For most of us smaller authors, it’s an AI voice or no audiobooks at all because human narrators are very costly. What they do is an art and they should be paid well! However, I’d love to work towards getting human narrators for all my work.

March is birthday month for my family. I have 2 nieces, my mom, my mother-in-law, and both my sisters and I are all born in March so we party it up all month long! Over my birthday (that I share with my twin), I will be headed to my first out-of-state girls trip. And I am so excited to rest, eat, read, and chill in the sunshine in a place I’ve never been. My mom and in-laws are holding down the fort with the kids while I escape. Three cheers for amazing family! And also for the ability to step away and refresh.

Speaking of, I took a quick trip over Valentine’s weekend to see my Valentine who was in type school for a month, learning the Gulfstream 500 so he can fly it for his company. Very proud of him and all the work he does. He loves it as much as I love writing. And having a happy husband is one of the keys to a very happy home! ;) He was up in Wilmington, Delaware. So we got to explore Wilmington, pop over to New Jersey, and then spend a few hours roaming chilly Philadelphia looking at historical sites like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Elfreth Abbey, as well as Christ Church where Franklin, Washington, and others went to church.

Amidst all this, I have been getting testing done on my heart. Many of you know my dad passed away at 55 from something similar to a heart attack. And we’ve recently found out just how genetic a lot of heart conditions are! So my siblings and I are taking measures to get tested and watch our hearts for similar problems so we can stay around a while.

I have 2 kiddos doing something new this year—spring soccer! #2 and #4 are lacing up their “boots” (as cleats are called in the UK) and taking to the pitch. We are getting so excited for warm weather and the outside time that brings. Just praying that we don’t suffer too badly from all the pollen here in Georgia.
